RICAPPS

The RICAPPS research network on chronicity, primary care and health promotion is made up of 26 research groups, located in 12 autonomous communities (which represent 90.2% of the Spanish population), and 9 clinical care groups from 9 Spanish autonomous communities.

It is funded by the Carlos III Health Institute under the RICORS Programme, Research Networks Oriented to Health Outcomes, with official code RD21/0016.

The scientific programme of RICAPPS is structured into five objectives that include fourteen work packages (WP). Of the five objectives, the first three are longitudinal and aim to address the three main subjects of the call (primary care, chronicity and health promotion). The other two objectives are cross-cutting and seek to address significant aspects highlighted in the call: implementation, gender perspective, patient and public participation, and digital health.

Mission

The general objective of the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS) is to promote network-based research oriented towards health outcomes in primary care, chronicity and health promotion, with the aim of transferring the results to clinical practice and to healthcare service organisations, thereby ensuring improvements in public healthcare. This goal is in line with the objectives of the Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing Challenge of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation, and with the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework.
