BIPS

The Bizkaia Group of Research in Health Promotion (BIPS) consists of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals (physicians and nurses) and from other Health Sciences (i.e., psychologists, biostatisticians, biochemists and biologists) belonging to several research areas: Primary Health Care, Prevention and Chronic Diseases; Mental Health; Cancer or Child-Youth Health.

The main goal of our group is to foster Implementation Research within the RICAPPS Network in order to facilitate the translation of evidence-based interventions/therapies into routine clinical practice of Primary Care; through the development, setting up and evaluation of implementation strategies. With this, we aim to enhance the reach, adoption, implementation (sustainable and generalized) and maintenance of these effective and cost-effective interventions for the promotion of health and/or the prevention and management of chronic conditions, and the abandonment or de-implementation of those practices considered of low-value.

Lines of work

  • Line 11.1. To plan, design and conduct high-quality implementation research projects that aim to increase the reach, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of best practices and effective evidence-based interventions, or to de-implement low-value practices.
  • Line 11.2. To provide RICAPPS research teams with the necessary methodological and technical support in the process of planning their implementation research projects and grant proposals between 2025 and 2027.
