The Health Services Research and Pharmacoepidemiology Unit (HSRP Unit) of FISABIO Public Health is a multidisciplinary group whose aim is to develop the scientific bases necessary to support health policy and decision making, to provide decision makers with the means to evaluate health systems in terms of quality, access, cost and use of health services, and to assess the impact of different interventions to improve health.
The HSRP Unit has expertise in a variety of research designs and has extensive knowledge of modelling and statistical analysis and comparative effectiveness and safety research in a variety of areas (pharmacoepidemiology, evaluation of quality improvement strategies or interventions, comparative assessment of health care quality, etc.).
It is currently one of the most experienced research groups in pharmacoepidemiology in Spain, using observational real-world data, mainly from the electronic information systems of the Valencian Health Service, covering a population of 5 million inhabitants. It leads or actively collaborates in international, national and local projects, many of which use distributed data. We have experience in transforming our data into ConcePTION CDM (CONSIGN and Retinoids projects) and OMOP CDM (we are part of the EDHEN platform), and we are partners in the EU PE&PV and DARWIN EU.
