SAMSERAP

The SAMSERAP (Mental Health, Services and Primary Care) research group was founded in 2003 and is made up of a multidisciplinary team of family doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, epidemiologists and statisticians.
Our main line of research is the prediction and prevention of common mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety and/or risky alcohol consumption.
Our team has carried out research projects funded by international (European Framework Programs, Medical Research Council, etc.) and Spanish (ISCIII, MICINN, Consejería de Salud de la Junta de Andalucía, etc.) research agencies. It has belonged until 2022 to the Research Network on Preventive Activities and Health Promotion (redIAPP), currently belongs to the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS) and to the Biomedical Research Institute of Malaga (IBIMA Bionand platform).

Lines of work

  • PREDICTIVE ALGORITHMS Develop and validate risk algorithms to predict the onset of common mental illnesses.
  • PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION Evaluate the implementation of programs for promoting mental health and emotional well-being, and for preventing common mental illnesses.
  • INNOVATIVE HEALTH PROMOTION AND PREVENTION INTERVENTIONS Design, develop, and evaluate innovative programs for promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and preventing common mental illnesses.
  • GENERATE EVIDENCE Generate evidence on the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and acceptance of programs for promoting mental health and emotional well-being, and for preventing the most common mental illnesses.
