Research lines

Line 1 To build population cohorts obtained from RWD and develop analyses of prevalent diseases in primary care to support decision-making in order to improve the quality of care. To develop a federated research infrastructure that facilitates the reuse of routinely collected data for the purposes of the research network.

Task 1. To develop cohorts on prevalent diseases (e.g. the CONCEPT project on ischaemic stroke, heart failure, diabetes, long-term survivors of breast cancer, atrial fibrillation, severe mental health problems, osteoporosis, etc.) in the context of distributed analysis.

Line 2 To develop data science methods to improve operational, analytical and information privacy capabilities for the development of causal inference studies using RWD. (close collaboration with WP14).

Task 1. To emulate randomised experiments (clinical trials) based on large, observational RWD as a powerful tool for decision-making.

Task 2. To apply various designs, methods and adjustment techniques to address measured and unmeasured confounding factors and methodological pitfalls in causal inference.

Line 3 To promote the co-development and clinical validation of digital health tools (e-health, m-health) for patients and professionals, especially in primary care, and collaborate in their transfer to the healthcare community, society and the production sector. (close collaboration with WP2, WP9 and WP11).

Task 1. To co-design digital health tools and personalised interventions for patients and healthcare professionals.

Task 2. To evaluate the impact of digital health solutions on healthcare outcomes, patients and healthcare professionals.
