Research lines

Line 1 To develop a federated RWD network within RICAPPS to enable top-of-the-game RWE in the Spanish NHS.

Task 1. To integrate and harmonize regional RWD infrastructures into a federated RWD network, focusing on the most prevalent diseases in the Spanish NHS and developing large, multiregional population based cohorts.

Task 2. To take advantage of the federated network of RWD within RICAPPS to conduct causal inference research to evaluate the pharmacotherapeutic management of the most prevalent diseases in the Spanish NHS, following the Target Trial Emulation framework.

Line 2 To develop data science methods to improve operational, analytical and information capabilities for the development of causal inference studies with RWD. (close collaboration with WP14).

Task 1. To apply different designs, methods, and adjustment techniques to deal with measured and unmeasured confounding and methodological pitfalls in causal inference.

Line 3 To promote the co-development and clinical validation of digital health tools (e-health, m-health) focused on patients and professionals, especially in primary care, as well as collaboration in their transfer to the healthcare community, the society and the productive sector. (close collaboration with WP2, WP9 and WP11).

Task 1. To design digital health tools and personalized interventions for patients and health care professionals.

Task 2. To assess the impact of digital health solutions on healthcare outcomes, patients and professionals.
