Amado Javier Rivero Santana
PhD in Psychology from the University of La Laguna and senior researcher at the Fundación Canaria Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Canarias (FIISC) since 2008. He is a member of the Spanish Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment and Services of the National Health System (RedETS), and the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS), through his affiliation with the Evaluation Service of the Canary Health Service (SESCS). His areas of expertise are Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Person-Centered Care (PCC). He has led and collaborated on numerous HTA reports, with expertise in systematic reviews and meta-analyses. He has been the principal investigator of several competitive research projects on PCC and shared decision-making (SDM) in various chronic conditions. He has participated in several research projects on the development and validation of decision support tools for various health conditions, the validation of instruments measuring PCC/SDM from the perspective of both physicians and patients, as well as the development of the Participa y Decide sobre tu Salud (PyDeSalud) website to promote SDM and patient empowerment. Furthermore, he is the co-author of more than 60 articles in scientific journals.
