Alezandra Torres Castaño

PhD in Psychology with experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions using qualitative, mixed-methods, and participatory approaches across diverse population groups.
In the healthcare field, she has experience in the preparation of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) reports, with particular expertise in the assessment of ethical, legal, and organisational aspects, as well as in incorporating patients’ perspectives. Her work also encompasses initiatives related to person-centred care, patient empowerment, health literacy, and shared decision-making.
She has participated in international, European, national, and regional projects focused on the design and evaluation of digital resources and solutions based on information and communication technologies (ICT) and artificial intelligence
(AI). These initiatives aim to enhance health literacy, promote greater engagement of individuals in managing their own health, and improve healthcare services and processes.
In the social field, she has experience in policies and interventions targeting families and vulnerable populations, including initiatives supported by international development cooperation. Her work in these areas has involved the design and implementation of innovative educational interventions for diverse population groups, supported by digital tools.
Her research profile is characterised by an interdisciplinary and applied approach, with a particular interest in the design and evaluation of participatory interventions and the integration of technological tools to develop innovative, transferable, and socially impactful solutions aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life and well-being.
