Yolanda Ramallo Fariña
Researcher at the Canary Islands Health Research Institute Foundation, affiliated with the Evaluation Unit of the Canary Islands Health Service (SESCS) since 2006. Head of the Research Design and Analysis Section at SESCS and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) technician.
PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2023), Master’s degree in Health Sciences Research Methodology from UNED (2016), Diploma in Biostatistics from the University of La Frontera, Chile (2007). Bachelor’s degree in Regional Economics (2000) and in Statistical Sciences and Techniques from the University of La Laguna (2002). Specialized in clinical trial methodology at the Primary Care Unit, Oxford University.
Principal investigator of 5 competitive research projects and researcher in twenty others, including regional, national, and European competitive projects. More than 60 high-impact scientific publications. Researcher in national networks: 1) RedETS of the Ministry of Health; 2) Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS). She is also a member of the University Institute of Biomedical Technologies (ITB).
Her area of expertise is health research methodology and data analysis. Technical Director of the Canary Islands Health Survey of the Canary Islands Health Service. Her primary line of research is the evaluation of ICT-mediated interventions for chronic diseases or disease prevention interventions.
In her teaching capacity, she has taught numerous courses on research methodology and data analysis. She has provided methodological and statistical advisory services at the Medical Association of Tenerife since 2009.
