Maria Pinel Cabello

PhD in Fundamental and Systems Biology, Master’s in Biotechnology, and Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Granada. She began her research career through competitive funding such as the "Formación de Profesorado Universitario" (FPU) grant, undertaking international research stays at Magdeburg University Hospital (Germany) and the CEA-Cadarache Institute of Biosciences and Biotechnology (France), as well as a Margarita Salas postdoctoral fellowship at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

She expanded her career into the private sector as a researcher at Libre Foods and as an R&D&i project consultant at Alien Technology Transfer, specialized in managing and developing highly competitive international proposals, specifically the U.S. NSF and NIH SBIR/STTR programs, focused on biomedical technologies, biotechnology, and health sciences.

Currently, she works as a researcher at the Canarian Health Research Institute Foundation (FIISC) affiliated with the Evaluation Service of the Canarian Health Service (SESCS), contributing to project management and research within the framework of the Primary Care Interventions to Promote Health and Healthy Behaviors Network (RICAPPS).
