Alvaro Sanchez Pérez
Álvaro Sánchez Pérez is Principal Investigator at the Bizkaia Primary Care Research Unit (UIAPB) of the Sub-Directorate for Primary Care Coordination of the Osakidetza General Directorate, Principal Investigator of the Basque Country group of the Research Network on Preventive Activities and Health Promotion (redIAPP, EXP: RD16/0007/0002), Principal Investigator of the Bizkaia group of the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care, and Health Promotion (RICAPPS, EXP: RD21/0016/0003; RD24/0005/0017), and Principal Investigator of the Bizkaia Biocruces Collaborating Group of the Predictive Medicine Platform - IMPaCT (EXP: IMP/00021). He is Coordinator of the Primary Health Care, Prevention, and Chronic Diseases Area at the Biocruces Bizkaia Health Research Institute, where he is Principal Investigator of the Research Group on Dissemination and Implementation Sciences in Health Services in the area of Primary Health Care, Prevention, and Chronic Diseases, whose objective is to generate valid scientific knowledge to design, apply, and evaluate implementation strategies to transfer proven effective interventions to routine clinical practice in a rapid, feasible, widespread, and sustainable manner; and/or to promote the abandonment of those of low or no value. He holds a PhD in Psychology and an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Research Methodology, and has extensive experience in the design and coordination of clinical trials, follow-up studies, and implementation trials in the context of Primary Health Care. He has been the principal investigator for several projects funded by the Carlos III Health Institute and the Basque Government's Department of Health, and co-investigator in many other projects funded by the same institutions.
