Research lines
Line 1 To design early detection and risk prediction tools for common and/or relevant diseases in secondary prevention, with the inclusive and longitudinal approach envisaged in primary care. Early detection tools, at the onset of diseases, would improve the optimisation of preventive measures and, therefore, delay the progression of diseases. Risk prediction tools in secondary prevention would help to identify patients at greater risk of their disease worsening, which would make it possible to intervene in time to slow the progression of the illness.
Line 2 To design, analyse and evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of screening and early detection strategies for common and/or relevant diseases in primary care. Identifying more effective and cost-effective screening strategies would enable the detection of diseases in the early stages, with a direct impact on improving disease control, progression and prognosis.
Line 3 To carry out comparative studies to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for the secondary prevention of common and/or relevant diseases at different stages of life. The impact of these studies is expected to reduce the incidence of new events or the worsening of existing diseases.
Line 4 To design, develop and evaluate community actions and health promotion programmes. To develop tools for the implementation and evaluation of strategies for health promotion and community participation.
