From discussion to design: Exploring adolescents’ beliefs about alcohol as the basis for a digital intervention
Speaker: Cristina Bermudez-Ampudia & Raquel Cobos Campos
Cristina Bermúdez Ampudia, holds a degree in Statistics from the University of Salamanca and specialises in multivariate data analysis. She has been involved in various psychiatric research projects within the HUA’s psychiatry research unit for six years. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis on applied statistics, developing mathematical models applied to first episodes of psychosis. Since 2018, she has been working as a statistician in the Methodology and Statistics Unit at IIS Bioaraba, providing support to researchers in various fields. She is also a member of the ‘Epidemiology and Public Health’ research group at IIS Bioaraba, where she has taken part in several ‘real-world data’ projects. She is the author of 11 publications.
Raquel Cobos Campos, holds a PhD in Pharmacy and is a specialist in hospital pharmacy, as well as holding master’s degrees in health economics and primary care research. She is head of the Methodology and Statistics Unit at IIS Bioaraba and is a member of the Institute’s research group on primary care, epidemiology and public health.
Brief Description of the Session
A collaborative project with schools, carried out in different phases with the aim of jointly developing a tool to change teenagers’ positive perceptions of alcohol consumption and to promote healthy leisure activities.
The first phase of group activities with the pupils has already taken place and, using the information provided by the pupils (knowledge about the risks of alcohol, the positive and negative aspects associated with its consumption, as well as their views on the type of tool they consider most suitable for them and its features), a tool will be developed which will then be evaluated among a cohort of students.
