GENADHECAR: Design and validation of a new questionnaire with a gender perspective to measure treatment adherence in ischaemic heart disease

Qualified Physiotherapist, Master’s in Primary Care Research, Master’s in Osteopathic Techniques of the Musculoskeletal System, and PhD from UMH. Researcher in the consolidated Primary Care group at FISABIO (2021-2022). Extraordinary Doctoral Award for a thesis on injury prevention in football. Currently a full-time contracted researcher at RICAPPS (research network on chronicity, primary care and health promotion), whose PI is Vicente Gil Guillén at ISABIAL. Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Surgery at UMH since 2017. He is a collaborating researcher on a research project funded by the ISCIII Strategic Action in Health. Among the lines of research in which he has worked are the prevention of injuries in prevalent sports-related and musculoskeletal conditions, and therapeutic adherence in chronic patients. He has 14 scientific publications and an H-index of 4 according to Scopus; in the last 5 years (2018-2022) he has had 11 publications in journals with an impact factor, with a total of 42 citations. 7 master’s dissertation projects supervised over the last 5 years
Brief Description of the Session
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of premature death in most European populations, with ischaemic heart disease being one of the leading causes of hospital consultations. Most recurrent cardiovascular events occur in survivors of an acute coronary syndrome. Poor adherence to medication is common among patients with this condition, so it is important to develop appropriate tools to measure it. In this session we will explain how an adherence questionnaire and the subsequent validation process was designed, taking the gender perspective into account. To do this, a multicentre observational, descriptive, cross-sectional questionnaire validation study will be conducted, from which it is hoped to obtain a freely available questionnaire to measure therapeutic adherence in patients with ischaemic heart disease and that takes gender differences into account
